If you ever wondered how to be more productive at home or at work, look no further. The secret to boosting productivity is to work smart in your personal and professional life. You’re probably wondering, how do you plan to achieve the success that you want on a daily basis?
Start by knowing your ‘why’. What you do every single day should contribute to your biggest goals. For example, taking a morning jog may help your overall goal to become healthier and energetic throughout the day.
2. Set goals
After knowing what you want out of your day or week, plan small steps to reach your set goals. Set specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and time-bound (SMART) goals. You may instead prefer to use another goal-setting technique.
3. Action plan
I’m a big fan of keeping a personal journal. If your not a notebook person, you can simply make a to-do list with sticky notes. I recommend keeping a daily, weekly and monthly to-do lists. Keep your short term goals. Plan for longer term as well. Work in increment within time frames. Frequently assess and review your set goals to see if they’re still relevant to you.
4. Morning routine
One of the best ways to start your day is to get up early and munch down a hearty breakfast to fuel your day. By doing so, you start the day with a well-defined purpose. This will energize you while you work towards your set goals.
Sometimes, when we’re overwhelmed by our long to-do list, we can’t have a productive day because we just don’t know how to organize our time. When that’s the case, the most simple solution is to list everything you need to get accomplished, then prioritize these tasks based on importance and urgency.
6. Take breaks
To reduce mental fatigue while staying on task, do take breaks by allocating time slots at regular intervals during work. Taking breaks have shown to improve mental health and overall boost productivity.
