Inspirational Books to Read for 2020

For many of us, a new year is an opportunity of growth and opportunities. Instead of spending majority of your time Netflix and chilling. It’s also a great time to sit back – and read a good book. Here, I’ve gathered some incredibly inspirational books that will transform the way you think and feel.

To save the spoilers, I will be just reflecting my thoughts about the novel. You can find the storyline on Good Reads and many other sites. Best of all, you can pick up the book yourself to know what’s it all about!

The Lemonade Life: How to Fuel Success, Create Happiness, and Conquer Anything by Zack Friedman

A very insightful book about learning how to be self aware of our own thoughts and emotions. I’m generally not much into motivational speakers – but the writer gives examples of self-made successful people to illustrate his inspirational messages. It’s less fluff, but impactful with practical advices.

The Catcher In The Rye by J.D Salinger

I recall reading this book in my senior year of high school and it still holds a strong memory. The characters are very relatable to the youth population. The Catcher in the Rye is a coming of age book written with an interesting style, through the lens of an introspective and confused adolescent. The book includes important themes in a manner that excels in impacting the reader.

When Breath Becomes Air by Paul Paul Kalanithi

While reading this book post-grad from college, I didn’t really knew what to expect other then the raving good reviews. Fortunately, it was a book well worth reading – but also grab some tissues! The story teaches reader about courage, humility, love and passion. It makes you think about why your time is valuable, and how one should live life to the “fullest.”

The Win Without Pitching Manifesto by Blair Enns

This book is about the business side of design. The writer introduces how everyone has the creative confidence to channel it into a productive manner. This is a must read for creatives who sell services to clients or company. It’s not a “how to” manual, but an inspirational book about how to assert yourself as a creative without “pitching.”
